Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most celebrated wildlife reserve and one of the world’s greatest leopard-watching destinations, is the centrepiece of this full-day adventure from the south coast. The park’s diverse ecosystem of dry-zone scrub forest, grasslands, wetlands, and coastal dunes supports biodiversity, including the highest leopard density of any protected area on Earth, as well as large elephant herds, sloth bears, saltwater crocodiles, and over 200 bird species. Departing at dawn to capitalise on the morning activity period, your expert guide leads two safari drives through the park’s Block 1, the most productive zone for wildlife sightings, with a lunch break at the park boundary in between. The tour includes private vehicle transport, Yala National Park entrance fees, jeep safari hire, an experienced naturalist guide, and a packed lunch; personal expenses, photography equipment and tips are not included.
